Find a Bladder Infection Home Remedy in your own pantry

The benefit of a bladder infection home remedy is that it is easily accessible. When a painful bladder infection shows up, treating it straight away is the probably the first thing on your mind. Whenever I have had a bladder infection I find that waiting in a doctors waiting room, or having to drive to the pharmacy is the very last thing I want to do.

The best part about a home remedy is that it is something you can grab from your cupboard without having to go anywhere. An added bonus is that home remedies are most often cheaper than other treatments too.

Some common home remedies for bladder infections are:

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar can be used to treat bladder infections
Apple Cider Vinegar - not the best taste!

Put two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink. You can also add apple cider vinegar to bath water for relief.

The taste is not so flash - definitely not my favourite. Some people don't mind though, so may not be an issue for you

Acidophilus Yoghurt

Acidophilus Yoghurt can be used to help with bladder infections
Make sure to choose an unsweetened acidophilus yoghurt

It is said that eating acidophilus yoghurt can help with a bladder infection. In my personal experience I have never been able to eat enough to actually get rid of a bladder infection. Acidophilus tablets have helped me but the yoghurt has never been strong enough. It may be a good bladder infection home remedy to include with another treatment if you already have some at home.

Sea Salt

Seasalt dissolved in water can be an effective bladder infection home remedy
Use sea salt rather than table salt

Dissolve 1 teaspoon of seasalt in a glass of water and drink. Do this as often as you need to throughout the day.

Cinnamon

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is the new wonder fix all.
Coconut Oil

Coconut seems to be the new wonder fix of EVERYTHING at the moment. I haven't actually used this treatment myself but it's been reported to work simply from drinking coconut water or eating coconut oil to even putting coconut oil on the affected area. Has this worked for you?

Cornsilk

Cornsilk can be used to make a tea
Cornsilk

Cornsilk is the stringy parts you find on the outside of a corn husk between the yellow eating part and the green leaves. Peel these strings off and let step in boiling water for about 10 minutes then drink.

The home remedy that I warn people about

This is one bladder infection home remedy with a warning. Click here to read why.

There is a lot of different home remedies around that are recommended for bladder infections and it can be difficult to know what will work for you. Often a bladder infection home remedy that does wonders on one person will have no effect on someone else.

With all bladder infection home remedies my advice is to try something and if you are not having some sort of good result within an hour or two, move onto trying something else. In my experience, bladder infections can come and go very fast. You don't have to be completely healed but without a definite step towards feeling better, it is best to move onto something that will give you the results you want.
