Top tips for drinking water:

Drinking hot water can be a great way to warm up in winter
Hot water is better than having a coffee if you are aiming to prevent bladder infections

Drink it as hot as you can handle it. Add a just a touch of lemon juice to add a little bit flavour if you want. I drink a lot more hot water in the winter when I feel like I need to be warmed up.

I like my water really cold with ice. Sometimes I add a slice of lemon or lime to it so it gets a slight hint of flavour. The alkaline effect of the lemons or limes, also helps to prevent bladder infections.

Water bottle on your desk

Just making sure you have a ready supply of water where you are spending the majority of your day, helps to create a habit of drinking.

Drink out of a wine glass

It just feels fancier! My Step mum has always told me that you can't drink wine out of mug – it just doesn't taste the same. I think psychologically drinking water out of a wine glass makes it feel more like a special occasion.

Buy something pretty

A cute glass or mug or water bottle. Something that you like so it turns drinking water into more of a treat - its all about marketing to yourself.

Make the most of when you are thirsty

Drink heaps while you exercise and just after you exercise. For me this is when I am already at my most thirsty. I figure I may as well get as much water in then

Practice drinking water for a month. If you can consistently drink enough water every day for that long, you are more likely to form a habit. Even if you have to mark off how much you have drunk on a sheet of paper to trigger your memory, its great to have formed a habit out of it.

Keep a bottle of water in the fridge

Water is one of my favourite natural cures for bladder infections
Keeping water spend a lot of time looking - in my case - the fridge!

This works well for me because I have a habit of looking in the fridge a lot when I am bored. The water bottle gives me a reminder to drink instead of eating!

Tack onto habits you already have.

If you make the most of habits you have already established you can make significant changes. For example, you already brush your teeth every morning, why not follow that with a glass of water? Leave a cup by the sink so you have no excuses.

I used to really struggle to drink enough water but now that I have the habit I am not only less susceptible to bladder infections, I feel better all round.Drinking water is not only the best natural cure for bladder infections, it also helps alleviate a lot of other problems in your body.
